How to find CUDA's version of LLVM backend

It is well-known that CUDA toolkit uses LLVM backend, but the used version number is not shown. We can use gdb and LLVM API function to print the version string:

$ gdb /opt/cuda/nvvm/bin/cicc
(gdb) start
(gdb) p 'llvm::cl::PrintVersionMessage'()

  llvm version 3.0

So, CUDA 6.0 uses LLVM 3.0. Current LLVM stable release is 3.4.2.

The CUDA and OpenACC courses delievered by Applied Parallel Computing LLC proved extremely valuable for our customers. Applicant is given 2-3 assignments on GPU porting, profiling and optimizations, solutions are checked by our trainers. Upon successful completion, applicant receives a duly-signed certificate, that could be a nice gem in CV of every GPU developer!

Applied Parallel Computing LLC is delivering GPU training courses since 2009. Several dozens of courses have been organized all over Europe, both for commercial and academic customers. We work in close partnership with AMD and NVIDIA. As result, our trainings are always up-to-date with foremost GPU technologies, and target actual hardware solutions. Every course topic is accompanied with practical session, conducted either on customer’s system, or on our own remote GPU server. Use our courses list to compose your personalized training program, and we will deliver it on site! 

The exact course timetable is formed by customer’s request for the given time frames. Complete package of course slides and samples source code is usually distributed across attendees during the first day of training. Hands-ons could be performed either in customer’s computer room with desktop PC-s or on attendees’ laptops. In both cases client machines are preferred to be used as terminal clients to connect with remote GPU cluster provided by customer or by APC. APC staff usually helps customer to prepare and test the GPU cluster environment in 1 week before the training.
